Air flights have become an integral part of work and rest for most of us. Someone flies regularly on business trips, others for travel purposes or to visit relatives and friends. For comfortable and quick navigation from one destination to another, we are willing to tolerate overloads during takeoff and landing, to deal with some sensations of helplessness, which covers a man flying in a metal box a few thousand meters high above the ground. However, the statistics immediately calms us down saying that more people are killed in car accidents than during the fall of aircrafts. In addition, most airlines use only the most reliable and repeatedly tested aircrafts. According to British insurance company Ascend, the ones that never got in an accident or at least the number of accidents is to the minimum are the safest passenger aircrafts. Let’s take a look at thetop 10 safest passenger aircrafts in the world and feel relaxation and confidence while on a jet!

10. Embraer 170, E-Jet

Series of E-Jet represent a whole range of twin-engine narrow-fuselage aircrafts. The Brazilian company started their production in 2000. For 10 years there has been only one accident. It was in 2010, when in Yuchin, China, the plane skidded off the runway and the third of the passengers, more than 40 people died.

9. Boeing 737 CFMI

The production of this line of aircrafts is already completed with the last one produced in 2000. There are 1796 such aircrafts now operating. The last time Boeing 737 CFMI was caught in a crash was in 2008, when in Perm the jet belonging to the company “Aeroflot Nord” crashed because of the fault of the crew.

8. Boeing 757

The production of the model began in 1982 and was completed in 2005. Nearly a thousand of planes of this series are being operated mainly by European and American carriers. There have been only 5 crashes so far with this jet, excluding the terrorist attack, during which two of such planes were blown up in the U.S. in September 2011.

7. Airbus A320

Since 1988 there have been 3500 aircrafts of this series produced. It was the first passenger aircraft to use a wire control system. Thanks to the spacious passenger cabin and a roomy lower deck, as well as very economical fuel consumption, the plane is popular among many airline companies worldwide. For almost a quarter of a century, there have been only eight fatal crashes with the participation of Airbus A320.

6. Boeing 737 NG

The letters NG stand for Next Generation in the name of the model. The production of this aircraft started in 1982 and still continues. Now more than 2.5 million of this aircraft fly all over the world. For 30 years, there have been only three accidents involving this jet, the latest of which was in the Netherlands in 2009, where the plane crashed while landing at Amsterdam Airport.

5. Boeing 767

The year of release is 1982. For 30 years there have been three aircraft accidents with this model. The aircraft is very popular among the airlines in Russia and CIS.

4. Boeing 747

The model comes from 1970. For 40 years there have been 18 crashes with this plane. Besides that, more than 900 planes have spent more than 315 million hours in the sky. This model was the first wide-body long-haul aircraft, which has been already for about half a century popular among the airlines of Europe, USA, Russia and CIS countries.

3. Airbus A330

The production of this model started in 1993, and it has worked more than 12 million flight hours without an accident. In 2009, when flying over the Atlantic, the plane disappeared with 218 passengers and 10 crew members. The cause of the crash couldn’t be determined, as the black boxes weren’t found.

2. Airbus A340

This model hasn’t had any single fatal crashes, but it is in the second place of our list, because 340 planes have had only 13 million flight hours so far. The matter of such a relatively small number of planes is that it’s expensive to maintain the aircraft, it consumes lots of fuel and therefore isn’t popular among most airlines. Airbus A340 has had one crash, during which more than 40 people were injured in 2005 in Toronto airport during a thunderstorm.

1. Boeing 777

Boeing 777 is the undisputable leader of all the ratings on the safety of passenger aircrafts. The production of this model began in 1995. To date, there are 748 aircrafts in the world, which have spent 20 million hours in the sky without any single fatal accident. No crew mistakes, no technical malfunctions or bad weather have so far prevented the Boeing 777 to deliver the passengers to the ground. The most terrible incident with this aircraft was the emergency landing at Heathrow Airport because of the clogging of the heat exchanger. Then, more than 10 people were injured, but no one died, luckily.
